"The LAPD are not pursuing the investigation as if foul play was involved at this point," the law enforcement source tells PEOPLE. The fitness guru was found dead Saturday, July 13, in his Los Angeles home by his housekeeper. He had turned 76 on Friday, July 12. TMZ reports that Simmons suffered a fall in his bathroom Friday night but refused to get help despite being urged by his housekeeper to seek medical attention. According to the outlet, Simmons reportedly said he felt dizzy and would maybe go to the doctor in the morning. The housekeeper helped him into bed that evening and discovered his unresponsive body lying next to it in the morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. On Saturday following the news of Simmons' death, his brother Lenny said fans should celebrate his brother's life instead of being sad. "I don’t want people to be sad about my brother," he told PEOPLE. "I want them to remember him for the genuine joy and love he brought to people’s lives. He truly cared about people. He called, wrote and emailed thousands of people throughout his career to offer help." "So don’t be sad. Celebrate his life," Lenny added. At the time of his death, Simmons had been out of the public spotlight for nearly a decade but spoke with PEOPLE two days prior.
